The Prosecutor’s Office is investigating, following a complaint from a private individual, the abuse of minor contracts at the City Council of Parla, governed by the PSOE in coalition with Más Madrid.
Additionally, Anti-Corruption is also looking into the awarding of the latest bull runs in the town, allegedly not following the legal selection process and awarding the contract directly.
It has been the Podemos Parla group that has raised its complaints about alleged irregularities in the contract for the bull run held last September during the Patron Saint Festivities, leading to the exit of this party from the local government, where it was alongside the PSOE and Más Madrid.
Investigating the awarding of the popular bull runs in Parla
This has been revealed by the councilor and spokesperson for Podemos, Carla E. Valero, who has been insisting for months that this contract awarded to the cultural association ‘Parla Taurina’, which was precisely what prompted her departure from the local government, has raised «many doubts about its procedure.»
In this regard, Valero has stated through a video on her social networks that the association ‘Parla Taurina‘ itself, «months before the contract was signed,» already informed that the PSOE from the municipal government was going to fund the bullfighting festivities with public money.
Now, in their complaint, the Podemos party requests the Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the aforementioned award, which amounted to 14,900 euros plus VAT and went to the cultural association Parla Taurina despite two other companies also submitting bids, Ofetauro Sur (for 15,900 euros) and Toros Tierra de Campos (for 16,500).
