Una woman aged 58 has died tonight in Madrid in the fire at her home. It happened in Parla. The fire started in two points of the house, the living room where the woman was, and the kitchen. The victim was rescued alive, but the medical services were unable to do anything as the woman could not overcome the injuries from smoke inhalation and burns.
The SUMMA 112 team confirmed the woman’s death. Several units of the Madrid Community Firefighters extinguished the flames that had generated a large amount of smoke in the house. They tackled the fire from the outside with the help of a ladder truck and through the door.
Now, the National Police have opened an investigation to clarify what happened.

It was then that they expanded the operational teams to search for the missing person, prioritizing the area with smoke presence and breaking skylights to facilitate ventilation. With the fire fully under control, the missing firefighter was located and evacuated outside. He received medical assistance from the Emergency Medical System (SEM), which activated 3 units, the medicalized helicopter, and two joint SEM-Catalan Firefighters teams.
The firefighter was in cardiac arrest and underwent resuscitation maneuvers, but ultimately passed away. The Catalan Firefighters activated the GEM Psychological Support Group and another SEM team to assist the Corps members who participated in the fire and relieved them of duty.
