More than a thousand children and adolescents from Parla, along with their parents, have already enjoyed Familia Activa. That is why the Parla City Council is once again hosting a new edition of this family leisure program between spring and late summer. The first outing, to Boca del Asno and Segovia, is scheduled for May 18 and registration is now open. The calendar extends until September 21. The price is 5 euros per person including transportation, insurance, and specialized staff. When the number of applications exceeds the available spots, they are allocated through a draw.
The fourth edition kicks off on Sunday, May 18 in Segovia and Boca del Asno
The fourth edition of the Familia Activa leisure program by the Parla City Council, promoted by the Department of Childhood, Adolescence, and Inclusion, will debut on Sunday, May 18. The destination for the first outing is to enjoy the International Puppet Theater Festival in Segovia and take a walk through the natural landscape of Boca del Asno.
Among the destinations for the following outings are Navacerrada, La Pedriza, and Los Molinos. The goal of Familia Activa – which was proposed by the minors targeted in the Parla Childhood Plan – is to provide them with quality activities that they can enjoy with their parents.
For children aged 6 to 14 with their families, or adolescents aged 12 to 15 without accompaniment
The characteristics of the outings are aimed at children aged 6 to 14, along with their parents. However, there are excursions specifically for adolescents aged 12 to 15, without accompaniment, to promote their autonomy and independence.
The outings cost 5 euros per person. This includes the activity, transportation, insurance, and guidance from specialized staff. Applications can be made online a week in advance of each outing, on the website www.familiaactiva.es. When the number of applications exceeds the available spots for each outing, spots are allocated by draw. Payment instructions are sent once spots are assigned.
From hiking to orienteering or spelunking
The schedule for the 2025 edition of Familia Activa is as follows:
- Sunday, May 18 – Titirimundi International Puppet Theater Festival in Segovia and Boca del Asno recreational area.
- Saturday, June 7 – Family orienteering scavenger hunt in Cercedilla.
- Saturday, June 28 – Moonlit hike at Puerto de Navacerrada.
- Saturday, July 5 – Moonlit hike in Los Molinos.
- Wednesday, July 9 – Spelunking, climbing, ziplining, rappelling, and hiking in Patones.
- Sunday, August 3 – Historical hike at Las Pesquerías Reales in Valsaín.
- Friday, August 15 – Stargazing walk in Puerto de Navacerrada.
- Saturday, September 6 – Hiking in La Pedriza, Manzanares el Real.
- Sunday, September 21 – Trades route in Pinilla del Valle.
