Parla is getting ready for a new edition of the Craft Fair, the third edition. It will be held on March 22, at the Plaza de la Guardia Civil. And artisans’ shops in the city interested in participating in this initiative by the Department of Commerce, through the Center for Business Initiatives, can register until March 17.
Following the success of the Parla Consumption Vouchers campaign, the Parla City Council is launching a new project to support and promote local commerce. This time, the focus is on establishments dedicated to the sale of artisanal products and services. This year, the Craft Fair will also be accompanied by activities for all audiences.
The Councilor for Commerce, Gema García Torres, emphasizes that «from the Center for Business Initiatives, we encourage the establishments in our city dedicated to artisanal activities to register for this commercial revitalization campaign with which we aim to continue promoting and supporting our local commerce, while trying to boost local consumption.»
Support for small businesses, specifically the artisanal sector
The fair will take place on Saturday, March 22, from 11:00 to 19:30, at the Plaza de la Guardia Civil, with the aim of promoting the revitalization and support of small businesses, specifically in the artisanal sector.
Therefore, visitors can enjoy the following activities as they stroll among the Fair’s booths:
- 12:00 – Circus and Poetry parade.
- 13:00 – Circus show «Flying Verse».
- 17:00 – Stilt walkers and poems parade.
- 18:00 – Circus show «The circus is a poem».
Establishments can register until March 17
Businesses interested in participating must formalize their registration before March 17. They can do so in person at the Center for Business Initiatives (Casa de la Cultura), by email at cie-empresas@ayuntamientoparla.es, or through the form available on the website www.compraenparla.es.
The initiative is aimed at businesses with a physical presence in Parla or online businesses whose legal headquarters are in Parla. Only those who make and sell their own artisanal products, as well as the necessary materials for their production, can participate (businesses that have the necessary materials for crafting but do not sell the final artisanal product in their store will not be able to participate in the fair).
Registered businesses must comply with and keep up-to-date the advertising and signage during the campaign, provided by the CIE. They may also, with prior information and authorization from the CIE, conduct demonstrations or workshops at their stands during the fair.
